Q1
How does a breathalyzer measure alcohol?
>
The sensor detects alcohol in your breath and converts it to blood alcohol concentration (BAC).
Fuel cell sensor: Reacts selectively to alcohol only, giving high accuracy and repeatability. It is used in most police breathalyzers worldwide and is the most widely used sensor for industrial sites, businesses and premium personal devices.
Q2
Are the readings legally valid?
>
Legal validity
Readings from personal and workplace breathalyzers are for reference only. Under the Road Traffic Act, only certified equipment and procedures used by the police serve as legal evidence in drunk-driving enforcement. We recommend using our products to check your own condition before driving or for preventive safety checks at the workplace. For reference, as of 2026 the drunk-driving threshold under Korea's Road Traffic Act is a BAC of 0.03% or higher. Please check the relevant laws or Korean National Police Agency notices for the latest standards. A breathalyzer must never be used as a tool to evade drunk-driving checks.

Q3
How long after drinking should I test for an accurate reading?
>
Right after drinking, alcohol remaining in your mouth can produce a reading higher than your actual level. We recommend testing at least 30 minutes after drinking, and rinsing your mouth with water just before testing helps reduce error. Readings can also be temporarily high right after using gum, hand sanitizer, mouthwash or spray air fresheners.
Q4
Why is calibration necessary?
>
A breathalyzer's alcohol sensor gradually loses sensitivity with use and over time (sensor drift). Depending on the number of tests, storage temperature and humidity, and exposure to high alcohol concentrations, readings may differ from the actual concentration. Calibration checks and corrects readings against a standard alcohol gas so you can trust the results. Where test records serve as evidence, such as at transport companies, a calibration report proves that test results are accurate.
Q5
Can I still use the device without calibration?
>
The device still works without calibration, but its readings cannot be guaranteed to be accurate. If you use it only for personal reference, this is not an immediate problem. However, if you record and manage results for work (such as alcohol checks for transport workers or in-house safety management), we recommend regular calibration.
Q6
How often should my breathalyzer be calibrated?
>
Sensor sensitivity can change over time depending on frequency of use and environment, so periodic calibration is needed.
- Our products are typically calibrated on a 1-year cycle (varies by product and frequency of use)
- Please check your product's user manual for the exact calibration interval. Calibration can be requested through our A/S center.

Q7
Can I reuse mouthpieces? How should I keep them hygienic?
>
For hygiene, we recommend replacing the mouthpiece after each use whenever possible. If you reuse one, rinse it with clean water and let it dry before use. (Long-term reuse is not recommended for hygiene reasons.)
In workplaces and public facilities where many people share a device, be sure to use a new mouthpiece for each person. Wipe the surface of the device body with a dry cloth and keep it away from moisture.
Q8
How should I store and care for my breathalyzer?
>
Store the device in a cool place away from direct sunlight, heat, humidity and dust. After use, keep it in its case so no foreign matter gets into the sensor inlet. If you won't use it for a long time, leaving it fully discharged can shorten battery life, so we recommend removing the batteries before storage.
Q9
How long does the battery last? Is it rechargeable or battery-powered?
>
Depending on the model, there are replaceable-battery models (AAA or other alkaline batteries) and USB-rechargeable models. Under typical use, one charge or one set of batteries lasts about 6 months, though this may vary with frequency of use and standby settings.
For exact specifications, see the battery section on each product page. (In the manual's specifications, battery life is given as the number of tests.)
Q10
How do personal and workplace (professional) models differ? Which should I choose?
>
Personal: Fuel cell sensor, light weight and an affordable price; suited to quick self-checks before driving.
Workplace/Professional: Fuel cell sensor with high accuracy and repeatability, and durability for continuous, repeated testing; suited to routine checks at transport companies, workplace safety programs, and organizations.
Choose based on your purpose (personal use vs. routine checks of many people) and the level of accuracy you need. If you would like advice before purchasing, please contact our Customer Center.
Q11
How do I get after-sales service if the device breaks or malfunctions?
>
We provide free after-sales service for 1 year from the date of purchase (product defects only; consumables, mouthpieces and damage caused by user error are excluded).
For sensor calibration, repairs or consumables, please submit a request through the Customer Center on our website or the A/S request board, and we will get back to you in order.

Q12
What should I do if the breathalyzer shows BLOW ERROR / FLO?
>
Common causes
Blowing too weakly, stopping midway, or blowing too hard
Blowing too briefly (stopping before the beep ends)
Air leaking between the lips and the mouthpiece
Mouthpiece not fully inserted or blocked
Inhaling instead of blowing

Mouthpiece not fully inserted or blocked
Inhaling instead of blowing
How to fix it
Make sure the mouthpiece is pushed in all the way and its opening is not blocked.
Take a deep breath and seal your lips around the mouthpiece so no air escapes.
Keep blowing at a steady strength [for about 3~5 seconds / until the beep ends].

How do I request calibration?
>
Calibration is offered as standard calibration or KOLAS-accredited calibration. Please contact our Customer Center ([032-868-0844]), then send the Calibration Request Form and your device by courier or bring them to us in person. (The request form can be downloaded from Downloads on our website.)
Once calibration is complete, your device is returned with a calibration certificate or a KOLAS calibration report.

(Takes about [3] days; standard calibration KRW 33,000 incl. VAT; KOLAS calibration KRW 99,000 incl. VAT)
The recommended calibration interval is [6 months / 1 year or every ○ tests]. (This varies by product; see the product description.)

Q14
Is it the same device the police use?
>
The National Police Agency uses many types of enforcement models, and some of our models are supplied to it. However, police enforcement devices are regularly calibrated and managed by the Korea Road Traffic Authority (every 4 months under national accredited calibration standards).
Q15
How do I get a calibration certificate?
>
A calibration certificate can be issued on request with a new purchase or when you request calibration. It is free with a new purchase; with a calibration request, it is free within 1 year of purchase and charged after 1 year.
If you need a KOLAS calibration report together with the product you are purchasing, a separate KOLAS certification fee applies, and it takes about 3~20 days depending on quantity.
